Welcome to the School of Communication.
The Mass Media program offers students the opportunity to study the developing communication of the 21st century. This program is designed for students who are interested in studying the theory and practice of the media, especially radio, television, and the internet.
Mass communication is the process that begins when someone observes what is happening, analyzes and interprets that information and transmits it to an audience through a variety of media. The mass media industry may be roughly divided into six basic areas of endeavor; advertising, public relations, journalism, information, entertainment, and research.
Attend a School of Communication information session.
Meetings are held periodically to help students learn more about the School of Communication offerings and application process. Attendance at one information session during the application period in which you apply is required for consideration of becoming a major or minor in the School of Communication. All information sessions are held in Fell Hall, room 446. See the School of Communication's admissions page for more information.
Applications always accepted.
